The ninth day of Navratri is dedicated to the worshiped of Maa Siddhidarti. The meaning of Sidhidarti is Sidhi means supernatural power and Dharti means awarder. It means that Maa Siddhidarti full fill all divine aspiration. She also known as the giver of perfection. She always her devotees with wisdom and grant them with spiritual knowledge.
History and origin of Goddess Siddhidarti
The story of Maa Siddhidarti begins at a time when our universe was nothing more then a deep void. It was filled with darkness and no sign of life. This is the way when Goddess Kushmanda created the universe with the radiation of smile.
After that Maa Kushmanda has to create the Trimurti of Lord Bramha–the energy of creation, Lord Vishnu–he is the energy of sustenance and Lord Shiva–he is the energy of destruction. When they were created, then asked Lord Shiva to Goddess Kushmanda to bestow him with perfection. Then Maa Kushmanda created another Goddess who bestow the Lord Shiva with 18 kinds of perfection. These includes the Astha Siddhi( 8 primary form of perfection) along with 10 secondary forms of perfection, described by Lord Krishna. The Goddess who had the ability to bestow these perfection on Lord Shiva is Maa Siddhidarti – the giver of perfection. Now, Lord Bramha was asked to create the rest of the universe.
Since, he required man and a women for creation. Lord Bramha found this task to be very challenging.
Then he pray to Maa Siddhidarti and asked her to help him. After hearing Lord Bramha request, Maa Siddhidarti converted half of Lord Shiva body into a women’s body. Therefore Lord Shiva is also known as Ardhanarishwar. (Ardh means half, and Nari means women, and Ishwar refer to Lord Shiva).
Now Lord Bramha was able to create living beings along with the rest of tge universe. So it was the Maa Siddhidarti who helped Lord Bramha with the creation of the universe and also the bestow perfection upon Lord Shiva.

Maha Navami will be observed on October 11, 2024, as part of the Navratri festival. This day is significant as it marks the worship of Maa Siddhidatri, one of the nine forms of Goddess Durga. The color associated with this day is Purple, symbolizing devotion and spiritual growth. Devotees engage in various rituals, including prayers and offerings, to seek blessings for success, fulfillment of desires, and protection from negativity. It is a time of celebration and reflection as the festival draws to a close.
Maa Siddhidarti is depicated as being seated on a lotus or a lion. She has four arms and hold a conch sell, a mace, and discus in each of his hand. Worshipped of ninth day Navaratri Maa Siddhidarti process the Ashta Siddhi. It is believed that Maa Siddhidarti blessed her devotees with spiritual wisdom and she is also known to destroy ignorance.
Maha Navami puja vidhi- wake up on early morning to being puja rituals with mahasnan or grand bath to rid themselves of all impurities and Shodashoparchar puja. Some devotees of Maa durga also perform the Kanya punjan / kanjak puja on navami.
People invite nine young unmarried girl, inside the home as they believed to be divine form of Goddess Durga. Devotees worship the kanjak, wash their feat, put tilak on there forehead, tie a holy thread on their wirst and give them Navami prasad of Halwa, puri, and black grams. Maa Durga and Goddess Siddhidarti are also offered this special bhog, seasame seed and night blooming jaismin. Some devotees also perform Sandhi Puja and offered 108 follower and bilva leaves to Goddess Durga.

According to the hindu mythology says that when the universe began, Lord Rudra worshipped Adi Parashakti, the supreme Goddess of power. Since she had no form Adi Parashakti appeared in the form of Goddess Siddhidarti from the left half of Lord Shiva, when this happened Lord Shiva came to be known as Adi- Parakhakti.
